Kelvin brings his story to life in an engaging way with balanced detail, bringing out all ranges of emotion. I loved the inclusion of historical events leading up to 9/11 occurring in tandem with Kel’s personal journey as well as the insight into the rigorous training our impressive military leaders experience. I finished the book with a deeper understanding of 9/11 and an even greater appreciation for all that goes into keeping our nation safe. Highly recommend it!

Destination 9/11 is a fantastic gem of a book. This book kept me up, turning page after page, unable to put it down! Ret. Brig Gen Kelvin Coppock’s voice sheds new light on a day many people think they know all there is to know about it. His story must be in the historical record, and now it is.
Leading up to the story of The Day is the story of a man who spent much of his adult life in the Air Force. I had no idea that branch of the military did so much. I have encouraged everyone I know with a tie to the military or an interest in that day to read this unputdownable book.

I had been waiting years to have a book of this magnitude written. Well written, easy to read book from the man that was intimately involved in the day that should never be forgotten by any American. I loved how General Coppock intertwined the story of his life and military training that led up to his briefing of the President. He provided historical facts of the rise of Bin Laden and kept me wanting to turn the page and read more.

Destination 9/11 is an absolute must read! This book kept me glued to my seat, turning page after page, unable to put it down! Ret. Brig Gen Kelvin Coppock’s voice and uplifting personality shines throughout this memoir, adding a unique and inspiring perspective to a tragic event so well known. Coppock offers never-before-seen information, straight from the source, not only about secret exercises, missions, and plans at play during September 11, 2001, but also insider information about the United States Air Force and what it is like serving as a man who is incredibly devoted to his country. As soon as I finished this memoir I was filled with an overwhelming feeling of awe and satisfaction, knowing that I had just read something important and memorable.
Overall, if, in a perfect world, 9/11 did not happen, this memoir would still be an incredibly interesting and exciting read, it isn’t every day that the general population hears from those so intertwined in the United States military. General Coppock provides the reader with clear insight on what happened on 9/11 and importantly, what did not happen on 9/11. Like all American tragedies, conspiracy theories immediately popped up after 9/11 and some were given credence in the media. General Coppock was there and he leaves no doubt about what went on; all conspiracy theories are completely debunked in this excellent book. Destination 9/11 will become the premier reference for all future discussions of 9/11, including how our intelligence network failed to detect the attack and then immediately responded to provide critical support to the top leaders of our government. A compelling read!

Retired Brigadier General Kelvin Coppock provides a unique perspective of the events leading up to 9/11. His personal life story including the successes and challenges of a career in the U.S. Air Force is an inspirational story of patriotism, leadership, and family all playing a part in the development of a key leader ready to handle the unplanned events of that fateful day.
