A Brighter TOMORROW

Dear Readers:

I'm sixty-five, and I never dreamed that I would live through a worldwide Pandemic. However, once COVID-19 took hold, we all were in the same boat. Were you scared? Did your stockpile toilet paper? Did you rush to get the vaccine when it was first available? It's really not important that you answer these questions. The answers are for you. You are the only one who knows what you went through. For some, finding ways to spend our time safely at home became cumbersome and very tiresome. For others, like me, I took it as an opportunity to regroup and write. I wasn't the only one. Today's BOOK OF THE DAY, "A Brighter TOMORROW,"  by Lori Schneider, MD is one example. Schneider put her energy into writing poetry to create a beautiful and brighter tomorrow. The poems are incredible and heartfelt. I love this book and it makes for a wonderful gift for those who are homebound, ill, depressed, or suffering. But, don't stop there, it's great for anyone who desires a brighter tomorrow. Order your copy today!

Sometimes life hurts—a lot! Overwhelmed by its challenges and painful moments, there are days when just breathing itself seems to require more energy than we have to expend. It is in such times of despair and great exhaustion that we are pushed to the edge with thoughts of throwing in the towel and surrendering to whatever, or whoever can ease the pain or be a distraction. Sometimes giving little or no thought to what the consequences will be. Beckoning us away from that edge of dire distractions with a message of hope, resiliency, and the understanding that God has not allowed us to be confronted with any situations that we cannot overcome, Deloris E. Jordan uses this book which is filled with real-life experiences to encourage us to not give up on living. Turning our attention to our inner strength, she speaks of learning how intentional God was with gifting each of us life while reminding us that no one's life is perfect, but everyone's life has a purpose. Having jumped off the edge several times in pursuit of death when overwhelmed by her life, the author writes earnestly of surviving those dark moments, finding peace, and becoming immensely grateful to still be alive. As with her first book, In My Family Shadows, she grants readers an internal view of her personal struggle for survival with uncompromised transparency.

I can not thank Deloris enough for her “truth-telling”. As I read intently through each page I was deeply encouraged and began to receive peace for my own situations. A real spiritual exchange took place as I read her story and how she accepted God's final say in her life. The courage it takes to tell such a sensitive truth with the intention of encouraging other souls is nothing short of the Spirit of the living God residing within the beautiful vessel, which is Deloris E. Jordan.

As a woman of faith who faces life struggles in many ways myself, I stand on the shoulders of women like Deloris who yield beautifully to the life-changing power of our Heavenly Father. We truly are blessed to have Deloris here with us on planet earth. I’m sure I am one of many who are thankful that God's plans were greater than hers. Do yourself a favor and buy this awe-inspiring book now. It serves as a witness and testimony to a life worth living.

Having a positive outlook is a well-intentioned goal. Having a positive outlook is an obviously healthier alternative to having a negative perspective on life. We must understand, however, that “positivity” in and of itself cannot overcome or overturn some of the negativity that is generated outside of ourselves by individuals or by social constructs/values. We must learn how to navigate through a world in which our positivity may have little bearing on the negative attitudes and outlooks of individuals or the harshness and injustices of our society without allowing that reality to dampen our spirits. We must understand that, despite our desire to project a positive outlook and to interact and share that energy with others, many will not be accepting of or responsive to it. We must be careful not to feel thwarted by the unreceptiveness of others and to understand that we may only be able to counteract some of society’s ills in small, practical ways and to accept/understand that there will always be plenty of “ills” to contend with. We must not let these realities diminish our spirit and drive. The purpose of this book is to help the reader accept these realities and to maintain a positive focus despite them and to not overlook the benefit to others and to society that we can provide without “changing the world.”

WRITING SPACE: Each quote has its own separate page so that you'll have room for reflection and space to write down your thoughts.
