Tell your readers a little about yourself, where you grew up, where you live now, where you went to school etc. Let them get to know the personal you.
I grew up in Belgium and moved to London after completing my degree in English literature. I'm a writer and have always had a passion for storytelling. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, reading, and I can’t live without coffee.
What inspired you to author this book?
Anonymously Yours was inspired by my fascination with the duality of how we present ourselves online versus who we are in real life. Social media has blurred that line so much—it’s easy to curate a perfect image, but behind the screen, things are often far more complicated. I wanted to explore that tension through a character who isn’t always likable, because real people aren’t always likable either. There’s value in writing flawed, messy heroines who make bad decisions, who can be difficult or impulsive, but who are still worth understanding. For me, that’s where the most interesting stories live.

Where did you get the inspiration for your book’s cover?
The cover of Anonymous Confessions of a Broken Heart, designed by Lotte Van den Noort, captures the heart of the story’s mystery. The torn paper hints at hidden secrets, and the red phone with the fingerprint is a subtle but powerful reference to the assault at the center of the story. Every detail is there for a reason, offering clues before the first page is even turned.
Who has been the most significant influence on you personally and as a writer?
Holly Bourne was the writer who first made me feel understood. I started to figure myself out as a writer while reading her books—her honesty and the way she captures complicated emotions really resonated with me. Kathleen Glasgow has also had a huge impact on me. Her characters are the only ones that have ever made me feel truly seen and heard. I’m lucky enough to lean on her during events now, but long before that, her work helped me feel less alone. Both of them have shaped who I am as a writer and as a person.

What were your struggles or obstacles you had to overcome to get this book written?
Writing Anonymous Confessions of a Broken Heart wasn’t easy. One of the biggest challenges was allowing myself to be vulnerable on the page, especially when writing about the assault. I had to tap into some of my own experiences and emotions, which was painful at times but necessary to make the story feel real. Sitting with those feelings and turning them into fiction took time, but it was also healing in its own way.

Holly has always been content with her books and quiet life, but everything changes when her best friend Mona moves away. Feeling more isolated than ever, Holly creates Anonymously Yours, an Instagram account where students can anonymously confess their deepest secrets. What begins as a harmless distraction soon becomes a dangerous game when confessions about the new boy at school, Johannes, start to surface. As Holly develops a crush on Johannes, she finds herself entangled in the dark secrets being revealed through the account—one of which involves a troubling assault. Torn between her growing feelings for Johannes and the shocking revelations about him, Holly is faced with an impossible choice: trust him or push him away to protect herself. As the confessions grow more intense and unsettling, Holly must decide whether to reveal her own identity and help expose the truth—or stay silent and let the secrets remain hidden forever. In Anonymous Confessions of a Broken Heart, secrets, trust, and courage collide in a fast-paced, emotional journey that will keep readers on the edge of their seats. Perfect for fans of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, this gripping mystery explores the power of truth, the weight of silence, and the lengths we go to protect those we care about.

What one unique thing sets you apart from other writers in your genre?
What sets me apart as a writer is my willingness to draw from my own personal experiences and be deeply vulnerable in my storytelling. I’m not afraid to tackle sensitive topics head-on—topics that many shy away from because they’re difficult or uncomfortable. I believe in addressing real, raw emotions and challenges that young adults face in their own lives, such as navigating trauma, dealing with difficult relationships, and confronting personal insecurities. By writing from a place of vulnerability, I aim to craft stories that feel authentic and relatable, allowing readers to see themselves in the characters and situations. I don’t just want to entertain; I want to create a space for meaningful conversations, offer a sense of validation to those dealing with similar struggles, and foster healing through storytelling.
